Queen City Nerve recently released the final part of its five-part series on Black culture in Charlotte. Several buildings that are historically important to the Black community and which are under the protection of the Historic Landmarks Commission are noted throughout the articles. The Commission remains committed to its mission to assist in the preservation of these and other notable structures throughout Mecklenburg County.

Preservation North Carolina’s annual conference will be held virtually this year on October 15 and 16. Both days will be full of opportunities to learn more about a variety of preservation topics and will also provide the opportunity to network with others interested in preservation. A virtual historic tour of the Cohen-Fumero House will also be featured.
