The Historic Landmarks Commission will be producing a series of video interviews of noted Charlotteans.  The first two in this series feature Jack Claiborne, who worked for 35 years for the Charlotte Observer, first as a reporter and then as an editorial writer.  Mary Dominick, a UNCC graduate student, conducted the first interview.  It focuses on Mr. Claiborne's recollections of the history of Charlotte College and UNCC.  Dr. Dan Morrill conducted the second interview.  It deals with Mr. Claiborne's memories of the Civil Rights era in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and with his recollections concerning Johnson C. Smith University.  He also discusses the prospects for the revitalization of the Biddleville neighborhood.
