The Patterson-Logan Grocery Store, located at 2515 Booker Avenue in west Charlotte, has found a new owner. The Charlotte Observer notes that the new owners of the building “plan to bring back its legacy of Black entrepreneurship and community.”

December 22, 2020

Charlotte City Council has unanimously approved Oaklawn Park’s petition to become a locally designated historic district. This makes the neighborhood “the first historic district designated in Charlotte in a decade,” as reported by The Charlotte Observer. The Historic Landmarks Commission has approved the relocation of Shotgun House A and B from their current location at 711 and 715 East 7th Street in Charlotte to west Charlotte. The houses will be used as Accessory Dwelling Units with the intent that they will provide affordable housing for the community.
