The next time you’re leavin’ on a jet plane at Charlotte Douglas Airport, look for the historic W.P.A. Douglas Airport Hangar, built in 1936-37 by the Works Progress Administration. The renovation of the historic hangar is included in plans for the new Carolinas Aviation Museum, projected to open in 2023.
