The public will take notice that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing on the question of designating as a historic landmark the property known as the “McClintock Presbyterian Church” as set forth below to be conducted during the Commission’s regularly scheduled meeting at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th day of September, 2026, via a virtual meeting format. The hearing will allow the public to comment on the potential historic landmark designation of the “McClintock Presbyterian Church” (listed under Parcel Identification Number 20142472 and including the interior and exterior of the building, the land listed under Tax Parcel Number 20142472 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of May 1, 2026, and all structures and fixtures on that land, including without limitation the cemetery and all graves, grave markers, tombs, and other architectural remains). The “McClintock Presbyterian Church” is owned by McClintock Presbyterian Church, and is located at 14008 Erwin Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. Such designation would be pursuant to Chapter 160D, Article 9, as amended, of the General Statutes of North Carolina.

The existing Ordinance would be amended to include both the interior of the Liddell-McNinch House and the associated land listed under Tax Parcel Number 07803513 as part of the original landmark designation of the exterior of the house, such that the entire property known as the “Liddell-McNinch House” (listed under Tax Parcel Number 07803513, and including both the interior and exterior of the house, and the land listed under Tax Parcel Number 07803513 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of May 1, 2026) would be designated a Historic Landmark. The property is owned by Mitchell Van Clark and Delores Clark, and is located at 511 North Church Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. The existing Ordinance would be amended to retain within the original landmark designation the exterior of the William and Nell Freeman House and the barn, and to amend the original landmark designation ordinance to add the land associated with the current location of the house and barn (listed under Tax Parcel Number 22702446 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of January 1, 2023) and to remove from the original designation the land comprising the former location of the house and barn (listed under Tax Parcel Number 22702445 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of January 1, 2023), such that the entire property currently known as the “William and Nell Freeman House” (listed under Tax Parcel Identification Number 22702446, and including the exterior of the house, the barn, and the land listed under Tax Parcel Identification Number 22702446 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of January 1, 2023) be designated as a Historic Landmark. The property is owned by Charlie M. Crisco Jr. and Traci L. Crisco, and is located at 145 South Ames Street in Matthews, North Carolina.
