The public will take notice that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as practicable, on Monday, November 13, 2023, via a virtual meeting format, focused on the question of designating as a historic landmark the property known as the “Savona Mill.” For instructions on attending the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission virtual public hearing, visit the Commission’s website at www.landmarkscommission.org or contact the Commission at 980-314-7660.

The hearing will allow the public to comment on the potential historic landmark designation of the “Savona Mill” (listed under Parcel Identification Number 07111417 and including the interior and exterior of the building and approximately 3.168 acres of the land listed under Parcel Identification Number 07111417 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of July 1, 2023). Said property is owned by Savona Mill Office (NC), LLC, and is located at 528 South Turner Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina. Such designation would be pursuant to Chapter 160D, Article 9, as amended, of the General Statutes of North Carolina.

Said property is owned by Joyce A. Zimmerman, and is located at 801 East Eighth Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Such designation would be pursuant to Chapter 160D, Article 9, as amended, of the General Statutes of North Carolina.


The public will take notice that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as practicable, on Monday, November 13, 2023, via a virtual meeting format, focused on the question of amending a prior ordinance granting historic landmark designation for the property known as the “Benjamin DeWitt Funderburk House” as set forth below. The hearing will allow the public to comment on the potential amendment of the prior ordinance granting historic landmark designation for the “Benjamin DeWitt Funderburk House,” listed under Tax Parcel Identification Number 19326104 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office, Charlotte, North Carolina as of August 1, 2023, to extend that landmark designation to include the interior of the House. Said property is owned by James L. Johnson and is located at 201 West Charles Street in Matthews, North Carolina. Such designation would be pursuant to Chapter 160D, Article 9, as amended, of the General Statutes of North Carolina.
