Grace Church purchased the site in August 1887. The current building
was dedicated on July 13, 1902. The block contained from left to right the
homes of J. T. Williams, W. S. Smith, Grace Church, and the Mecklenburg
Investment Co. Building. |

|
| The end of an era
occurred on June 11, 2006, when the members of Grace held their last service
in the historic Church building. The church is relocating to the
suburbs. |
