Vocabulary
WALL PLATE - the top of the wall, where the rafters connect to the wall.
POST - the main vertical pieces of wood in a wall.
BRACE - the diagonal (can be curved or straight) piece of wood that helps strengthen the frame.
STUD - smaller posts in the wall.
WINDOW SILL - the base of a window opening.
CROSS RAIL - a main horizontal piece of wood between the wall plate and the sill.
SILL - the bottom of the wall.
PLINTH - the base of a wall.
