DESCRIPTION:The public will take notice that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission will hold a virtual public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th day of November 2020 on the question of designating as historic landmarks the following properties: \n\n\n\nThe Simmons House including the exterior of the house and outbuildings and land associated with tax parcel 15502301\, located at 625 Hermitage Court\, Charlotte\, N.C.\n\nThe Ashford House including the exterior of the house and land associated with tax parcels 06306102 and 06306103\, located at 241 Hoskins Avenue Drive\, Charlotte\, N.C.\nFormer Charlotte Fire Station #10 including the exterior of the building and the land associated with tax parcel 06706102\, located at 2136 Remount Road\, Charlotte\, N.C.\n\n\n\nThe final determination of designation of these properties will be decided by the Charlotte City Council at a future City Council meeting. \nFor instructions on attending the virtual public hearing\, visit the Commission’s website at www.landmarkscommission.org or contact the Commission at 980-314-7660.  \n\nThe public will take notice that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission will hold a virtual public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th day of November 2020 on the question of amending the designation ordinance for the James C. Dowd House\, 2216 Monument Street\, Charlotte\, which was designated as a local historic landmark in 1978. The ordinance would be amended to include in the historic landmark designation the approximately .682 acres of land containing the James C. Dowd House and associated with tax parcel number 06706105 and approximated .1916 acres of land to the north of the house associated with the adjoining tax parcel number 06706106. All of the property being recommended for inclusion in the designation of the James C. Dowd House was once part of a 100 acre tract of James C.
