The Victor Shaw House is for Sale

The Historic Landmarks Commission has been informed that the Victor Shaw House at 2400 Mecklenburg Avenue, Charlotte, N.C., in the Club Acres section of Plaza Midwood has been listed for sale.

Victor Shaw House

The Colonial Revival style house was built in the late 1920s. In 1944 it became the home of Victor Shaw, the Mayor of Charlotte from 1949 until 1953. Shaw was responsible for convincing the Charlotte City Council to build the Charlotte Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium on E. Independence Blvd. The house is on a 2.9 acre lot.
